Cheers to Drinking and Drawing!

Cover for the directory of the Pittsburgh Society of Illustrators - this year's theme was "Drawing Under the Influence"

With cocktails serving as the muse, a contingency of members from the Pittsburgh Society of Illustrators ushered in the opening of the gallery exhibit “Drawing Under the Influence” with – what else – a number of cocktails that were conjured up by the illustrators themselves.
Among those in attendance at the gallery opening late last month was proud Pittsburgh illustrator and cocktail blogger Doctor Bamboo, who not only attended but served as the evening’s bartender! He shook up the following cocktails that included Hiram Walker Triple Sec, generously provided by the brand. Here are those recipes if you wish to stir one up for yourself:
Earthly Delight
  • 1.5 oz. apple cider
  • .75 oz. Hiram Walker Triple Sec
  • .5 oz. brandy
  • .5 oz. lemon juice
Devil’s Advocate

  • 1.5 oz. Bacardi Limon
  • 1.5 oz. Hiram Walker Triple Sec
  • .75 sour mix
  • .5 oz grenadine
  • 4 oz. cranberry juice
Of course, not cocktail guide from Pittsburgh would be complete without a submission and illustration from Dr. B himself! But I better leave that one to him sharing for himself… 🙂 In the meantime, if you want to see pictures from the event (including Craig bartending!) visit the gallery website here.
Many thanks again to Doctor Bamboo for including Hiram Walker in his back bar for the gallery opening.
Cheers!
SJ
