I’m also hoping for some luck as my home state basketball team takes on the number 1 seed in the Tournament this Saturday night. So with luck in mind, today’s featured cocktail will be a Lucky Double!
- 4 parts ABSOLUT® Mandrin Vodka
- 1 part Hiram Walker® Triple Sec
- 4 Lemon Quarters
Shake and strain into a chilled rocks glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with lemon.

Happy Friday everyone! Tomorrow is a big day for me, as I will be running my first (and most likely my only) ½ marathon! For those who don’t know, a ½ marathon consists of 13.1 miles…straight…and I will admit to you all that I am very nervous. So I’ve decided to settle my nerves tonight and toast to my big day tomorrow with a cocktail! To keep the theme of marathons and running, I’ve decided this Friday’s Feature cocktail will be a Rum Runner!
- 2 parts Malibu® Tropical Banana
- 1 part Hiram Walker® Blackberry Flavored Brandy
- 2 parts Orange Juice
- 2 parts Pineapple Juice
- 2 parts Cranberry Juice
Serve over ice in a tall glass, garnish with fruit.

I’m heading off to the Windy City tonight to spend the weekend with some friends. Since this will be my first time visiting Chicago, I plan to be an extreme tourist: Navy Pier, the Sears Tower (now known as the Willis Tower?) the Bean, you name it I plan on seeing it!
Okay, so in reality I only have one day for sightseeing so I may not get to everything, but I am very excited to explore a new city. This excitement about my trip has inspired me to make this week’s featured cocktail the Chicago Cocktail. Recipes for the Chicago Cocktail can vary, but below is one variation:

Well guys, I don’t want to jinx things, but I think we may have finally found spring up in the Northeast! With the sun shining outside of my office window, and the snow mounds in the parking lot (almost) completely melted, I’m ready to toast to the weekend with a light and sweet spring cocktail.
Perfect for spring White Peach Blossom Martini
White Peach Blossom
- 1 part ABSOLUT Mandrin Vodka
- 1 part Hiram Walker White Peach Schnapps
- ½ part Pineapple Juice
Put all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a martini glass.
The White Peach Blossom contains the sweet and fruity flavors associated with warmer weather, and I for one welcome this season with open arms.

Christmas is just around the corner and I am getting very excited! I’m also very excited for a little vacation (hence the length of this post). Inspired by the bucket of candy canes sitting on my desk, this Friday’s Feature Cocktail is a Candy Cane Martini!
Candy Cane Martini
- 1 part ABSOLUT® Vodka
- 1½ parts Hiram Walker® Pomegranate Schnapps
- 1½ parts Hiram Walker® Peppermint Schnapps
- ¼ part Simple Syrup
Shake and strain into martini glass, garnish with mini candy cane or mint leaf.

Every once in a while Friday rolls around and there is nothing I look forward to more than a night of doing absolutely nothing. Today is one of those Friday’s, and I have decided that a Whipped Russian is going to be my cocktail of choice tonight. This sweet twist on the White Russian is the perfect drink to accompany me as I cozy up under a blanket on the couch, where I’ll most likely spend my night watching my DVDs of Friday Night Lights.

Shake well with ice. Strain over crushed ice and serve
The coffee flavor of the Kahlua and cream, spiked with the sweetness of Hiram Walker Whipped Liqueur provides a delicious combination of flavor for a crisp autumn night. The Whipped Russian is also a tasty treat after dinner if you prefer liquid desserts like I do!!

Experimenting in the office kitchen to create the perfect seasonal Hiram Walker Cocktail
This Friday I am back in New England and back in the fall mindset. In a couple of weekends I will be getting together with some friends from college for our annual pre-Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Feast, and this year I was put in charge of making “festive cocktails”. While I am much more qualified to play bartender than Iron Chef, there is still a lot of pressure that comes with providing party refreshments. To ensure I don’t ruin the whole fun of the evening, I have forced my co-workers to be my guinea pigs for the next few weeks while I test out a variety of “festive” cocktails to prepare at pre-Thanksgiving.
This first creation was inspired by one of my college roommates who is an avid baker. We all have her to thank for the wonderful desserts at pre-Thanksgiving (and for those last 5 pounds I could never shed at school). One of her most beloved baked goods is her secret family recipe for “Fluffy Pumpkin Pie”. I am told that a Fluffy Pumpkin Pie becomes “fluffy” when some sort of whipping takes place (like I said, I’m not the baker) and this inspired me to do some “whipping” of my own to create a “Fluffy Pumpkin Pie Cocktail”. After playing around with some recipes, I decided that this creation was better off as a shooter (it’s a little too sweet to be served as a martini), and with my co-workers’ approval I will be serving these shooters at pre-Thanksgiving.

Recently I’ve been featuring cocktails that are perfect for the fall, which I will of course continue to feature throughout the season. However, I am currently on a getaway to Key West for the weekend, and fall cocktails are far from my mind (and far from my hand)!
As I lay by the pool with the sun beating down, it is not a pumpkin martini I am craving, but instead something sweet, fruity and fun to accompany my carefree state of mind! I decided that a CosmoWhipolitan fits all of the aforementioned qualities, and is what I will be mixing up for my vacation buddies! I’m sure a lot of you are reading this from an area that is not as tropical as where I am, but fear not, a CosmoWhipolitan can be just as enjoyable on a chilly fall day (or any day at all for that matter)!
- 1 part Hiram Walker Whipped Liqueur
- 1.5 parts Hiram Walker Triple Sec
- 1.5 parts Cranberry Juice
- .5 part fresh lime juice
Shake all ingredients in shaker and strain into chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with an orange twist.

Everywhere I look pumpkin flavored drinks are taking over, whether it’s coffee or beer it seems as though summer drinks are out and fall drinks have moved in. I suppose that is another thing I will admit I love about the fall, I am a pumpkin fanatic (especially when it comes to my grandma’s pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, they are the best cookies around!) So after waking up with my first pumpkin coffee of the season and enjoying my first pumpkin ale, I am slowly getting into the spirit of fall (although I’m sure I will go back to being bitter about it the first day the weather drops below 750)
In my attempt to embrace the fall instead of shunning it, today’s Friday Feature Cocktail is a Pumpkin Eater!
Not the prettiest cocktail, but the taste of Hiram Walker Pumpkin Spice makes up for it!
Fill glass with ice. Pour ingredients as listed. Garnish and serve.

Happy Friday everyone! This week I wanted to share with you a fun recipe that shrinks down your classic Margarita into one miniature cocktail (also known by some as a shot). What I love about this recipe is that it uses new Malibu Red, classic coconut Malibu Rum mixed with Tequila (if you still haven’t tried this yet, I suggest you do so immediately, you won’t regret it!) And of course, I love it even more because it uses old pal Hiram Walker Triple Sec as well 😉
- 1 part Malibu Red
- ½ Part Hiram Walker Triple Sec
- ½ Part Fresh Lime
Shake and strain into a shot glass
If you have big plans for tonight and you have a feeling a Mini Margarita just won’t cut it, try out a Classic Triple Sec Margarita substituting Malibu Red in for the Tequila!
