Friday Feature Cocktail: Pineapple Paradise

The warmth of spring has yet to arrive, but the rain that comes with spring is making its way in and looking to stay all weekend. Yay! (complete sarcasm) One of these days I will be able to enjoy the fresh air outside of my house, but in the meantime I will be daydreaming of a tropical getaway. The best way to really get in the mindset of a paradise vacation is to drink like you’re on a paradise vacation… so tonight I will mix myself up a Pineapple Paradise!

Pineapple Paradise

• 1½ parts Malibu® Coconut Rum
• ¾ part Pineapple Juice
• Splash Hiram Walker Blue Curacao
• Splash of Coconut Cream

Shake ingredients with ice and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a pineapple slice.

Enjoy!

Spring Madness

With a hint of spring weather upon us and March Madness in full swing, this weekend will hopefully consist of a mix of outdoor activities combined with a healthy amount of time spent glued to the tournament games on TV… a combination I like to refer to as Spring Madness.

Spring Madness also consists of cocktails (surprising I know) including

White Peach Blossom (for the spring aspect)

• 1 part ABSOLUT® Mandarin Vodka
• 1 part Hiram Walker® White Peach Schnapps
• ½ part Pineapple Juice

Put all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with an orange slice.

Root Beer Fling (for the madness watching aspect)

• 1 part Hiram Walker® Root Beer Schnapps
• 1 part Kahlua® Coffee Liqueur
• ½ part ABSOLUT® Vodka
• 5 parts Cola

Serve in a tall glass filled with ice.

Friday Feature Cocktail(s): Pie Cocktails

Happy Friday and Happy Pi Day! Today, 3.14, is referred to by many as “Pi Day.” While math is definitely worth celebrating (according to some) I would much rather take today to celebrate the goodness of the lovely baked good… pie.

Since this Pi(e) Day falls on a Friday, I’ll be washing down my homemade store bought pie with nice, refreshing liquid pies!

Key Lime Pie Martini

• 1 part Hiram Walker® Melon Liqueur
• 2 parts ABSOLUT Vanilia® Vodka
• Splash Hiram Walker® Amaretto
• 1 part Lime Juice
• 2 parts Cream

Garnish with a lime.

Mama’s Boston Cream Pie

• 1 part Mama Walker’s Glazed Donut
• 1-2 drops of chocolate syrup
• .5 part cream

Add ingredients to shaker with ice, and strain into chilled shot glass.

Enjoy!

One Week To Go!

With one week to go until St. Patrick’s Day, it’s time to start planning what green beverages are going to be showing up at your festivities. While you could just buy some green cups and call it a day, where is the fun in that? There are lots of delicious green drinks for you to choose from (see my previous list of green cocktails from the other week here) but one of my favorite festive cocktails is the Irish Margarita:

• 1.25 parts Jameson Irish Whiskey
• .5 part Hiram Walker Triple Sec
• 2 parts Margarita Mix
• 1 part Water

Shake vigorously and strain into glass with ice.

Enjoy and Happy one week ’til St. Patrick’s Day!
