Instead of rushing through crazy crowds of people, why not spend the Friday after a gluttonous holiday getting ready for the duration of the holiday season with a tad more excess? If you’re in the cold weather as I am, I suggest avoiding the shopping malls and the windy weather and instead pop on some holiday music, pick out your favorite holiday movie and get comfy on the couch with a nice spiked hot chocolate!
I suggest spiking with either Hiram Walker Peppermint Schnapps (a classic) or for those with a sweet tooth- Hiram Walker Whipped!
It’s almost here! With only two days left it’s very important to prep your palates for an overload of food and beverages and to stock your kitchens and bars with all of the ingredients you need for a perfect Thanksgiving. While I leave the cooking to the experts, I can help you to plan your cocktail menu! Here are a couple of Thanksgiving cocktails that all are sure to enjoy this holiday season!
If you’re in New England or the Northeast, chances are you are going to be extremely cold this Thursday, warm up a little quicker with an Absolut Apeach Toddy:
- 2 parts Absolut Apeach
- 1 part Hiram Walker Triple Sec
- 1 dash Honey
- 1 part Apple Juice (hot)
Build all ingredients into a footed toddy glass, and garnish.
Because it’s not Thanksgiving without Pumpkin Pie (martinis):
Combine ingredients in shaker w/ ice. Shake vigorously. Strain into martini glass. Garnish and serve.
I hope you all have a safe and wonderful holiday! If you over-drink, don’t drive and if you over-eat, make sure you’re wearing comfy pants 😉
This morning parts of my lovely state saw the first snowfall of the season. Luckily, in my neck of the woods it was only rain, but the cold chill of winter is still making its way in. If there is one good thing about the cold weather ahead, it is the warm cocktails that make everything better. Tonight I will heat up my first cocktail and (attempt to) enjoy the cold weather. Since it’s still fall I think a warm cider drink is in order:
Spiced Caramel Cider
- 3 parts hot cider
- 1 part Malibu Black Spiced Rum
- 1 part Hiram Walker Caramel Apple Liqueur
Add Malibu Black Spiced Rum and Hiram Walker Caramel Apple to glass of hot cider. Stir and serve hot.
Enjoy and stay warm!
Halloween parties have finally concluded, which means no more costumes, no more pumpkin carving, and hopefully, for my sake, no more candy! It’s not that I don’t enjoy Halloween as much as the next person; I just LOVE Thanksgiving much more. No pressure to find a costume or buy gifts, just one holiday dedicated to being with friends and family for eating (and drinking).
Here are some delicious cocktails for the fall season and Thanksgiving, because it’s never too soon to start planning your Thanksgiving menu!
