This is the first in a series of posts that will profile participants in the Hiram Walker Gingerbread Cocktail Competition and their drink entries. The winner of the contest will be announced the week of Thanksgiving.
First to be profiled in this series is Marleigh Riggins of Sloshed! and her Time Change Cocktail. I’ve been reading Marleigh’s blog for months now and I have to say this lady from LA-LA land has some of the most beautiful drink photos on the web (this one’s hers though it’s not the Time Change Cocktail). I love the images, the colors, the format, it’s just a great design. Add in the fact that there’s an encyclopedia of drink recipes with witty commentary to boot and you’ve got an RSS staple. Time Change Cocktail by Marleigh Riggins
1 oz Hiram Walker Gingerbread Liqueur
3/4 oz ginger syrup
2 tsps Stroh 80% rum
dash Angostura bitters
2 1/2 oz sparkling wine (cava)
Shake liqueur, syrup, rum and bitters over ice. Strain into a cocktail glass or champagne flute and top with sparkling wine.
Drink up everyone & try not to fall asleep when it gets dark at 4pm. Cheers!
