The Hiram Walker Gingerbread Cocktail Competition is well underway. In fact, entries are due this Saturday, and many recipes have already rolled in. Now, I won’t share the details of these recipes with you just yet because the contest is still open for a few more days. I will, however, tell you the lovely photo accompanying this post is by Cheri Loughlin a.k.a The Intoxicologist, and it’s of her drink submission, the Mexican Cafe de Jengibre (full recipe will be up next week).
So far I am blown away by the drink recipes and the greatest thing is they’re all so different! We’ve got drinks with Rum, Tequila, Brandy, Port, and Whiskey and no two are at all alike. If you’re a vodka drinker and just waiting for that vodka & Gingerbread recipe to come in, don’t hold your breath. This crew seems to steer away from the stuff, but don’t worry. I’ll be posting some Ginger-tini (cocktailians are cringing) recipes in the coming weeks as well. Beginning next week I’ll post the full recipe submissions and ask you to weigh in before the judge does. Don’t miss it!
