It is beautiful in Connecticut right now and it’s forecasted to stay that way for the long weekend. This is just the fall weekend I’ve been looking forward to and that means it’s time to go apple-picking! Apple-picking followed by apple pie-baking and apple-cocktail making of course.
You see…I love apples. A lot. In fact, I love them so much I’m planning to incorporate them into my upcoming (ok…not till next October) wedding. That’s right—centerpieces, invitation design, favors, and you guessed it DRINKS! Unfortunately, I’ve heard the Appletini is dead, so I’ve had to get a little creative and try a new spin on this one.
Here’s one I’ll be trying out this weekend with the fresh apple cider from Lapsley’s Apple Orchard. We’ll see if it makes the cut for next year…
Caramel Apple Orchard Martini:
1 part vodka
2 parts Hiram Walker Butterscotch Schnapps
2 parts fresh apple cider
Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake thoroughly and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with an apple slice and enjoy!*
*Drink will be enjoyed best after a hayride, paired with a slice of warm apple pie and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Bonus points if you’re wearing a flannel shirt and denim jacket. Now that’s Fall.
